This is the time when the major change in body starts to begin. At six months pregnant, the end of second trimester. It means that you just have few weeks left for your tummy to get so big and your energy level to dip down. Having a baby bump will make you look complete pregnant and it feels good. Having so much of patients with flat tummy would now result up showing you baby bump, your belly gets so big but your energy level dips down. Being pregnant is not an easy task, you will have to adjust yourself with different changes in your body as well as other external factors to keep yourself and your baby healthy and fine. So, at 6 month of pregnancy you will experience some pregnancy symptoms. There are so much of pregnancy symptoms ladies experience at this stage and it is very common part of being pregnant. Diet(Food) at Sixth Month of Your Pregnancy

You will experience hunger like you haven’t feel before as your body is in overdrive of two different lives and need well increased fuel to function up 24×7 so by this time you should have well increased diet. The question now arise is, what to eat?  You can treat yourself with biscuits and chocolates too, but you and your baby need must is nutrition, so make sure that you have well proper nutrition in your regular diet. You must have 2200 calories per day in your diet.

You will carve for food both frequently and intensely. Here is the list that you should definitely make part of your diet at sixth month of your pregnancy:

Protein: The most important part of diet at the building blocks of cells. Food contain protein are daily products-

  2. Lean meat
  3. White meat
  4. White fish
  5. Tofu
  6. Black Beans

Have food rich in protein to benefit your child and you by giving sufficient protein your body requires

Carbohydrates: Like protein Carbohydrates are also essential for you and your routine diet. Carbohydrates are the source of energy that support the body of mother in growth of baby. Body burnt up carbohydrate for energy. The excess carbohydrates convert into fats and get stored into cells. Some healthy food that are rich in carbs:

  • Seeds and Nuts
  • Oats
  • Cereals
  • Pasta
  • Potatoes
  • Whole grain bread
  • Brown rice
  • Sweet corn
  • Bananas
  • Legumes
  • Bulger

Some little portion of carbohydrate is recommended at the time of pregnancy. But don’t forget that, it depends on you that how much weight you have gained.

Vegetables: Different vegetables are rich in various proteins, minerals, vitamins and provide good amount of fibre in your body. Fibres found in vegetables are very essential in six months pregnancy.

These vegetables will have very important role in your health and healthy growth of your baby.

Fruits: There is nothing like fruits which would refresh and revitalise the human body in any sickness, stress or illness. So, having fruits are the best food to have in your pregnancy period. Fruits provide various vitamins, minerals, and various micronutrients. Most of Fruits contain water which helps you stay hydrated as well. This nutrition will delight up the baby with taste and juices and would help in your baby’s growth.

Folic acid: At sixth month of pregnancy diet it is necessary to have food rich in folic acid. Folic acid is complex vitamin and necessary for building up new cells. It is vital for brain development of your baby and regular intake of folic acid would tone up the baby’s spinal cord. Food rich in folic acid:

  • Whole grain breads.
  • Green vegetables like: spinach, broccoli, peas, turnip leaves, romaine lettuce, mustard leaves, okra, etc.
  • Fruits like: orange, strawberry, raspberry, grape, avocados, banana, cantaloupe, etc.
  • Seeds like: sunflower seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, and sesame seeds.
  • Nuts like: peanuts and almonds.

Vitamin C: At the stage of pregnancy, you might be facing an issue of bleeding from your gums this is because to high volume of blood in your body. It might lead to gingivitis if you have excess bleeding in your gums. Do consume high amount of Vitamin C at this period as it will repair and maintain your connective tissues of overall body and also include the tissues stick teeth to the gums and to the bones of your jaw.
Fluids: Do stay hydrated as not just eating you are also drinking for two bodies. At this stage of pregnancy do intake plenty of water. Do intake minimum 8 glasses of water in a day. You should also add up some juices and smoothies in your diet for your overall well. Do stay hydrated with proper amount of liquid intake in your body it will also help you in fighting up with constipation.
